Hear in the Satsang with Premanand Maharaj; About Maharaj ji - Premanand Maharaj is a revered saint and spiritual teacher in the lineage of Shri Radhavallabh Sampradaya, a tradition rooted in deep devotion (bhakti) to Radha-Krishna.
His teachings emphasize prem bhakti — pure love for God — free from material desires and ego. Through his life of simplicity, humility, and complete surrender, he exemplifies the ideal of a true Brajvasi sadhu.
The essence of satsang according to Premanand Maharaj can be beautifully summarized in a few deep and heartfelt points. Maharaj Ji speaks less with words and more through bhav (feeling), silence, and presence.
Satsang is the company of truth — not just people, but thoughts.
Maharaj Ji emphasizes that true satsang means keeping the company of those who are immersed in divine love, but also staying in the association of thoughts, actions, and emotions that are aligned with Radha-Krishna bhakti.
The goal of satsang is not knowledge, but transformation.
It’s not about collecting information or being entertained by spiritual talks — it’s about allowing the heart to melt, ego to dissolve, and divine love (prem) to awaken.
True Love is Unconditonal and Selfless-
True love is selfless (निःस्वार्थ) — it asks for nothing in return. It only seeks the happiness of the beloved. In the highest form, like Radha’s love for Krishna, the lover is ready to suffer if it brings joy to the beloved.
True love is seva (सेवा) — silent service with no expectation of recognition or reward. It expresses through the smallest acts of surrender and remembrance.
It is egoless (अहंकार रहित) — the “I” dissolves. In true love, the lover forgets themselves completely in the remembrance of the beloved.
It is unconditional (निर्शर्त) — it doesn’t depend on whether one is loved back. It continues to flow, even in silence, even in pain. That is the beauty of divine love — it gives, not takes.
Maharaj Ji teaches that this kind of love is rare and can only blossom through deep bhajan, satsang, and the grace of saints. When love becomes pure like this, the soul begins to taste the sweetness of God — premras (प्रेमरस)
“Surrender is Strength, Not Weakness”
Premanand Maharaj Ji teaches that true surrender is not defeat — it is divine victory.
“समर्पण कोई कमजोरी नहीं है, यह सबसे बड़ी शक्ति है। जो ईश्वर के चरणों में झुक गया, वही सबसे ऊँचा उठता है।”
(“Surrender is not weakness, it is the highest strength. The one who bows at the Lord’s feet rises the highest.”)
Acoording to Maharaj Ji:
Letting go of ego (अहंकार त्यागना):
When a devotee surrenders, they drop the burden of “I” and “mine”. And in that space, divine grace begins to flow.Total trust (पूर्ण विश्वास):
Surrender means trusting that God knows what’s best — even when we don’t understand. It’s not giving up — it’s giving over, with love.Inner peace (अंदर की शांति):
Real strength is not in controlling everything. It’s in accepting God’s will joyfully. That’s where peace lives — not in resistance, but in trust.
He does it all with the feeling that every soul is a reflection of his beloved Radha Rani.
Serving Others is Serving God:-
He quietly lives in seva (service), especially in Vrindavan — to saints, cows, children, widows, and Brajwasis — showing that serving others with love is the highest form of serving God.
“ईश्वर को पाना है तो ईश्वर के प्रेमियों की सेवा करो। सेवा ही सच्चा साधन है।”
(“If you want to attain God, serve His beloveds. Seva is the truest form of spiritual practice.”)
According to Premanand Maharaj Ji
God lives in all beings — especially in the hearts of the helpless, the poor, the saints, and the simple-hearted. When we serve them with love, we are directly serving Shri Krishna and Shri Radha.
- True seva is done with humility and no expectation — not for name, fame, or punya (merit), but with the feeling that “I am serving my Thakurji through this soul.”
- Even the smallest act matters — offering water, a smile, a kind word, cleaning a temple floor — all are divine when done with bhav (devotion).
- Seva purifies the heart — It melts ego and opens the path to prem bhakti (loving devotion).
Detachement Doesn;t Mean Neglect
According to Premanand Maharaj, the idea that “Detachment doesn’t mean neglect” is a central theme in his teachings. He emphasizes a spiritual form of detachment that is deeply rooted in love, duty, and presence, not in avoidance or coldness.
* Detachment (Vairagya):
In spiritual terms, detachment is not about running away from responsibilities or people. It’s about:
- Not being overly emotionally entangled.
- Performing duties without getting attached to the results.
- Letting go of egoic possession — “mine-ness” or “I did this.
* Neglect is Different:
Neglect implies:
- Avoidance.
- Disengaging from one’s roles or responsibilities.
Lack of care or attention.
A Simple Example:
Think of a mother who raises her child with full love and care but is ready to let the child go live their own life without clinging. She’s detached, but not neglectful. That’s the essence.
